The date and venue are set for the second ever World Cup of Pool. 32 nations of two man teams will be competing for a share of the $250,000 prize fund with the $60,000 first prize.

In the second round of the Shanghai Masters (the 2007-08 season opener) Mark Selby has gained revenge for his world final defeat to John Higgins in May. Selby won the match 5-3 to progress into the 1/4 finals.
The other big shock of the day was Steve Davis being thumped 5-1 by a resurgent Dave Harold. Harold has now beaten two former world champions en route to the 1/4 finals.

It has been a long time since we posted on the blog and the reason has been the fact that Billiards Boutique has been so damn busy!
The beginning of September saw the launch of our brand new store at Southwell Business Park, Portland. On the opening day we decided to run a free entry pool tournament with £100 cash up for grabs. The event attracted 28 local players and was won by Dorset County

Due to the success of the last tournament at our snooker cue shop in Portland we are running our second monthly competition on Saturday 13th October.
It is £5 to enter with £40 added. All entry fees paid out in prize money. This particular event is played to WEPF world rules and all matches will be best of 5 frames (final best of 7).

Royal London Watches Grand Prix champion Marco Fu has been given the final wildcard place for the Masters in January.
Fu, who defeated Ronnie O’Sullivan in October’s Grand Prix final joins snooker’s top 16 elite players plus qualifier Barry Hawkins.
Fu will play Steve Davis in the first round.
